Two Young Israeli Stars Shine at Orillas de Mar 2023: GM Ido Gorshstein and IM Levin Guy Share Second Place
Israeli Grandmasters Ido Gorshstein and International Master Levin Guy finished tied for second place at the Orillas de Mar 2023 Chess Tournament, held in Tenerife from June 23 to july 2nd. Both players scored 6.5 points out of 9, finishing tied for second place.
Sure thing! Guy and his buddy Ido, fresh off his promotion to Grandmaster, made their way to Tenerife with all their fellow countrymen cheering them on. Moreover, these two Israeli dudes are young, super friendly, and crazy talented players. Certainly they brought a whole lot of fun and excitement to the tournament, playing at an insanely high level. In the eventful fifth round, Ido emerged triumphant against the talented Indian WGM Vantika Agrawal (2428 Elo). Showcasing his unwavering determination and remarkable strategic skills. By skillfully controlling the seventh rank of the board, Ido tactfully outmaneuvered his opponent, ultimately securing a well-deserved victory. Likewise, in an exciting turn of events, Guy exhibited his exceptional abilities by defeating the accomplished Croatian GM Bojan Kurajica (2486 Elo). With an optimistic mindset, Guy launched a bold and assertive attack, swiftly overpowering his opponent and claiming a resounding win. These impressive performances serve as a testament to their immense potential and bright futures in the world of chess.
