Our 2023 Christmas tournament is for everyone. Whether you’re a local, a visitor, or just starting out, you’re welcome to join us. We especially encourage women and girls to participate and be part of this special occasion!

The XMas Tourney is an exciting opportunity for players to showcase their skills and compete at the highest level in the world of chess. Get ready to embark on a thrilling journey, where each move counts and victory awaits. Join us for this incredible event that is recognized and respected by ELO FIDE. The stage is set and the spotlight is on you. It’s time to let your brilliance shine!

The participation is open to all players registered by their Federation with FIDE ID. Spanish players and those who have to request a FIDE code must be federated in Spain.

You want to participate in the next Christmas rapid tournament, but you don’t have a federal license or a FIDE ID?

Don’t worry, we can help you!

Contact us by email: arona_chess_club@gmx.com but no later than December 5th. We will send you the instructions immediately to obtain the federal license. The registration is fast and the process is very simple.

MODE

9 rounds – 15 minutes + 5 seconds of increment per move per each player. The pairings will be made by the “Swiss Manager” software and the International referee is responsible for those pairings.

DATES AND TIME

The tourney begins on December 17th at 10:00 am. The closing ceremony will be on December 17th at 8 p.m.approx.

REGISTRATION and FEE

The participation is free for all sportsmen with + 2400 Elo.

Participation is open to all others with a fee of €10.00

You can pay at the tournament venue from 9:00 a.m. and until 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, December 17th.

You can also pay, but within December 15th, by transfer to the Cajasiete bank account ES47 3076 0230 2427 8778 8120 – Swift/Bic BCOEESMM076 – in the name of ARONA CHESS CLUB, with the concept “2023 XMas Tournament”, plus player’s name and surname.
