Dear chess friends, firstly, it is a real pleasure to invite you to the first edition of the Christmas Rapid Chess Tournament at the historic and prestigious Casa Fuerte of Adeje.

Secondly, all the program has the aim to celebrate next Christmas together. Playing chess for two days with joy and getting lots of prizes and surprises for all the participants, firstly for kids!

ARONA CHESS CLUB and CASA FUERTE of Adeje have the great pleasure to organize the whole tournament

also thanks to the highly appreciated support of the Tenerife Federation of chess and of the creative and cute graphic design of Solución Grafica

Thirdly, and most importantly, we want to thank our main sponsors and kind supporters

Finally, our 2022 Xmas tourney is a totally OPEN and RAPID TOURNAMENT for both experts and beginners of any age.

Here we go with the detailed program:

MODE: 9 rounds – 15 minutes + 5 seconds increment per move per each player

DATES and TIMES: The tourney begins on December 17 at 10:00 am.

Round 1 will start on Saturday December 17 at 10:00 am

and then Round 2 – Saturday December 17 – 10:50 am

then Round 3 – Saturday December 17 – 11:40 am

Round 4 – Saturday December 17 – 12:30 pm

then Round 5 – Saturday December 17 – 13:20 pm

Round 6 will start on Sunday December 18 at 10:00 am

then Round 7 – Sunday December 18 –10:50 am

and again Round 8 – Sunday, December 18 – 11:40 a.m.

Last Round 9 will start on Sunday, December 18 at 12:30 p.m.

The closing ceremony will be on December 18 at 13:30 p.m. approx.

At the end, GM Todorcevic Antic Miodrag will give a short and interesting speech about his chess career

REGISTER: the participation is free for all holders of the GM, WGM, IM and WIM FIDE titles.

Last but not least, participation is open to all others with a fee of €10.00 (€5.00 for ARONA CHESS CLUB members).

The registration period ends on Friday, December 16 at 5:00 p.m.

It is an Int’l tournament, many tourists joined, and here are the statistics (on dec. 15) of the nations and titled players present:

THE PAYMENT: you can pay at the tournament venue. Casa Fuerte of Adeje from 9:00 a.m. and until 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 17th. We will accept more players and registrations on Sunday until 9:30 a.m.

• DELAYS and ABSENCE: as per program and time reported above, the games start at 10:00 am If the player is late after 10:20 am, he loses the game. If the player does not show up at the start of the first round, without at least an hour’s notice, he will be excluded from the tournament. If the player does not show up for two rounds, even if justified, he will be eliminated from the tournament.
• ELECTRONIC DEVICES: mobile phones, tablets, smart watches, etc.) must be turned off. Any exception will be governed by the arbitrator.
• ISSUE RIGHTS. by participating in the tournament, as in all activities of ARONA CHESS CLUB, you accept the publication of images and personal data (name, surname, year of birth and sports data) that may be used in different media, for the necessary dissemination and promotion . of the event and of the whole program.
