IM Vaishali Rameshbabu true queen of the board

Vaishali Rameshbabu, the 22-year-old Indian IM had a stunning performance at the tournament, finishing with a score of 6 out of 9. She faced five Grand Masters and did not lose a single game, drawing with the young GM Daniel Dardha (2619 Elo) and defeating the solid GM Boris Chatalbashev (2522 Elo).

Rameshbabu started playing chess at the age of 5 and achieved the FIDE Master title at the age of 12. In 2015 she became the youngest female Grand Master in India, at the age of 14. She has since gone on to win numerous tournaments around the world, including the Asian Youth Chess Championship in 2012, 2013 and 2014 and the World Youth Chess Championship in 2016. She has also represented India at the Chess Olympiads in 2016, 2018 and 2022.




Vaishali Rameshbabu is a true queen of the board, and her performance at the Orillas de Mar tournament is just the latest in a long line of impressive achievements. She is a rising star in the world of chess, and we are sure she will continue to achieve great things in the years to come.
